Afterward was inspired following a year lived on a small ranch in Central Texas, blended with media memories of big screen images of iconic American Westerns and TV series of the 50’s such as the Lone Ranger and the Cisco Kid. The American West has held promise of vast expanses and riches for anyone who might move there, the promise to create a new life and any dream one might have. But it also has another side, one that has imposed the exclusion of some, and the lost dreams of others. I have traveled by car and foot, photographing sites researched and happened upon using an old medium format camera and color negative film similar to the colors found in Technicolor films, to instill a timelessness that might be found in the locations, the names and what has been left in the American West.
